益子焼 Yoshizawa kiln swan small plate

$22.00 USD

A small plate with a "swan" motif, When designing this swan as a vessel shape, the "neck" part was the bottleneck. The elongated neck, which can be said to be a characteristic of the swan, was realized by integrating it with the body. A ballet-inspired pattern is on the torso. The color is "white" without gloss. The beak is individually hand-painted with gold.

It's a wonderful dish that can be used as a sweets plate or a small serving plate. In addition, fine iron spots can be seen througout, and there are parts where the glaze is uneven.

The appearance of the baked color and pattern is different for each customer. There are many fine iron, spots, glaze deposits all over, and crystallized white spots of glaze. In addition, the crack pattern "crashing" between the glaze and the substrate can be seen throughout.

<about clay making>

The gypsum mold made by the design department is floated in a liquid potter's clay called "dorosho". After a while, take it out, let it dry naturally, and remove it from the mold when the slurry has hardened.

You can put fine patterns on the inside of the pottery taht you made with mod sauce. The size and shape of the plates differ slightly from one customer to another.
